About

My name is Natasha. I grew up in California and moved to Arkansas after I graduated from high school. After a year of college, I enlisted in the United States Navy as an Intelligence Specialist. This allowed me to do some traveling and be a part of some pretty remarkable things, including Guinea’s first presidential democratic election.

After my time in the Navy I chose to attend culinary school at Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colorado. I received a job offer straight out of school in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Two years later I moved back to California to be closer to my family. I like to think all of these things just make me well-rounded.

I am currently a graduate student working on my MLIS (Library Information Science). I started this blog as part of an assignment for one of my classes and decided it would be fun to stick with it.

Books have always been close to my heart and I would like to share this love. The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan and the Guardians of the Flame series by Joel Rosenberg really got me into fantasy and I’ve been a fan ever since. The Throne of Glass series and The Remnant Chronicles have been my favorites so far this year. I also really love fairytale retellings and I feel fortunate that there have been so many great ones released recently.

Swimming, reading, canoeing, and softball are a few of my hobbies. I am a self-proclaimed pub trivia master (although 7 straight months of wins adds a little credibility) and I enjoy all kinds of board games. My favorite color is purple and I admittedly have an unhealthy obsession with Castle and Game of Thrones. Participating in pen pal programs is another one of my interests and I am part of the current round of OTSPSecretSister. My puggle, Rhino, has traveled the world with me and continues to be my companion during all of my adventures.
